Family Law Mediation
Almost any family law issue can lead parties to mediation. Some Denton County Courts will order you to participate in a mediation conference before the case can proceed to trial. Wise County Standing Orders require at least a half day mediation before you can even proceed to temporary orders.
The purpose of mediation is to give the parties a say in the outcome of the case, rather than leaving it to the decision by the family court judge. Family law mediation provides divorcing couples and parents a level of control over the outcome that is not possible once the case goes to trial. In addition to all its other advantages, mediation is faster. Most issues can be resolved in one or two days.
At the Bowen Law Group in Denton, Texas, attorney Chrysandra S. Bowen is experienced in mediation and knows how to prepare clients and encourage them to focus on the issues that are truly important to them. Chrysandra participates in mediation sessions with clients. These sessions typically involve each party and his or her attorney using a third party mediator as a go-between. Mediators present offers, advise on the chances if the case proceeds to trial, and keep the parties talking. To learn more about family mediation, contact our Denton County Law Firm.
